Alastair started his career in professional services with Arthur Andersen, spending 11 years in the London, Cape Town and Sydney offices. He then moved to the Australian operations of News Corporation based in Sydney, where he spent 12 years in a variety of roles finishing up as Deputy CFO and Company Secretary. During this time Alastair also held roles as Chairman of Sporting Pulse Pty Ltd and Director of Carsguide.com.au.

Alastair left News Corporation in 2014 to become Chief Financial Officer of The Australian National University. During this time he was also a Director of Unimutual. Alastair joined Vinta as Chief Financial Officer in September 2017. In addition to Finance, Alastair has responsibility for Human Resources, Information Technology and Risk. 

Alastair holds a degree in Banking and Finance form Loughborough University in the UK and is a Chartered Accountant.
